The 2025 Spring Festival travel rush (Chunyun) officially began on January 14 and will last for 40 days. To ensure smooth travel, Changzhou has implemented several measures across its transport sectors, including adding flight routes, increasing train services, launching express buses, and extending metro operating hours.
Airport: Two New Routes and Increased Flight Frequency
During the Spring Festival period, Changzhou Benniu International Airport is planning to introduce two new flight routes and increase the frequency of flights to three destinations.
From January 20, an international route between Changzhou and Phuket was launched, operated by Thai Lion Air, with flights scheduled for January 20, 25, 30, and February 4 and 9. Starting January 29, a new Changzhou-Yantai route will be operated by Eastern Airlines Jiangsu, with daily flights.
Additionally, starting January 20, flight frequencies between Changzhou and Guiyang have been increased by Colorful Guizhou Airlines, with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Since January 14, flights between Xiamen, Changzhou, and Dalian have also been increased by Shandong Airlines, with daily flights.
Train Stations: 110 Additional Passenger Trains
During the 40-day Spring Festival travel period, Changzhou's railway stations are expected to handle 1.8 million passengers, a 5.3% increase over 2024.
Building on the peak operation schedule, Changzhou Railway Station plans to add 110 additional passenger trains, including 38 pairs at Changzhou Station, 12 pairs at Changzhou North Station, 3.5 pairs at Wujin Station, and 1.5 pairs at Jintan Station.
Bus Stations: New "Convenience Express Buses" to Liyang and Jintan
During the 2025 Spring Festival, Changzhou's bus stations are expected to serve 150,000 passengers.
On the first day of the travel rush, Changzhou Bus Group will launch express buses connecting downtown Changzhou to Liyang and Jintan. The bus service from Changzhou Bus Station to Liyang will operate up to 32 round trips per day, while the service to Jintan will have up to 48 round trips daily. Tickets for the Liyang route are priced at 25 yuan, while tickets for Jintan are 10 yuan.
In addition, Changzhou Bus Group will introduce three special tourist lines connecting downtown Changzhou to popular destinations, including Tianmu Lake Scenic Area and Nanshan Bamboo Forest in Liyang, Oriental SaltLake Resort, Jardin Admirable Tourist Resort, and Maoshan Forest Park in Jintan, as well as Joyland Amusement Park in Wujin.
Metro: Extended Operating Hours
During the Spring Festival, Changzhou Metro Lines 1 and 2 will extend operating hours by 30 minutes, with trains running every 15 minutes during the extended period.
The last trains from the metro’s starting stations will depart at 22:30, with Line 1 concluding operations at 23:29 and Line 2 at 23:02. The metro will also make flexible adjustments based on passenger flow, such as adding trains when needed.
From January 14-27 and February 5-12, special Spring Festival service points will be set up at key stations, including Wujin Yanjiang Railway Station, Changzhou Railway Station, and Changzhou North Station, offering services such as luggage handling, hot water, baggage wrapping, travel guidance, schedule inquiries, lost-and-found services, and assistance in finding people.
Moreover, all Changzhou Metro stations will provide "One-on-One Care Reservations" and "Heartwarming Relay Services," offering assistance to passengers requiring special support throughout their journey, from entering the station to exiting.
